MIXED MARTIAL ARTS

The original Mixed Martial Arts dates back to around 650 B.C. in the Greek Pan-Hellenic Games. Most of the rules used then are still followed in today’s competitions and organizations such as the Ultimate Fighting Championship and the World Extreme Cagefighting.Coach Danny Daniels offers mixed martial arts training to students who come to the Studio for a variety of reason, from general fitness, strength and conditioning, to becoming a professional fighter.

Whatever your goal, martial arts is a great exercise program that will get you in shape while you are having fun and learning a skill set. Because of the fact that you are focusing on technique and having a good time doing it, you aren’t really thinking about it as exercise…….most of the time :-)

All of our Mixed Martial Arts classes are developed to train you as a fighter. They are developed to give you complete body conditioning by strengthening all muscles groups, increasing flexibility and enhancing your endurance level. All of these will lead to fat loss and healthy weight management and get you in the best shape of your life. With hard work come results. We’re not trying to say its one big cake walk. What we are saying is, anyone can do it, and that it beats the crap out of getting on a treadmill or sitting on a piece of gym equipment doing the same thing every day.

We offer a Beginner Jujitsu/Mixed Martial Art class on Tuesdays and Thursday from 7 pm to 8 pm. Regular MMA classes are held Monday through Thursday from 8 pm to 9 pm. Thursday nights we focus on wrestling and improve your ground game. We also offer Open Gym on Fridays (6 pm to 7 pm) and on Saturdays (10 am to noon). This is time for you to practice your skills and techniques, workout on your own or with other members.

Basically you take western boxing and combine it with the kicking techniques of the Orient and you get Kickboxing. A sport that provides an excellent means of working out.

ABOUT DANNY DANIELS
Owner and Chief Training Instructor, Danny Daniels has over 25 years of knowledge and experience in martial arts and fitness. Daniels is the 1993 NC Lightweight Kickboxing Champion and competed as a professional MMA fighter for Team Shamrock. Coach Daniels was exclusively trained in Submission Fighting by MMA legend Frank Shamrock, the first ever five-time Ultimate Fighting Champion. He currently holds the rank of “Nidan” in Karate-Do under the direction of Shihan Kevin Gurganus and a “Shodan” in Jujitsu under the direction of Hanshi Lemuel Stroud. Daniels has been sharing his knowledge and experience with Triangle residents since 2004.

ABOUT BULL CITY BRAWLERS
Coach Daniels is also the head coach for his own MMA fight team, the Bull City Brawlers. Members of the fight team receive training in kickboxing, jujitsu, grappling, and mixed martial arts at the studio. The Bull City Brawlers can be seen in cage fights around the Carolinas and mid-Atlantic region, competing in amateur and professional circuits. Upcoming competitions and fight schedules are posted in the studio, here on our web site and on our Facebook page (Danny Daniels Fitness Studio). Come out and catch the fighters in action.
